Process

Before Care

• Schedule a consultation with our doctor to discuss the procedure and determine if it suits you.
• Inform the practitioner about any medical conditions, allergies, medications or supplements you’re taking.
• Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin and fish oil, for at least one week before the procedure, as they can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising.
• Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before the procedure, as it can dehydrate the skin and increase the risk of bruising.
• Avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure for at least 24 hours before the procedure, as it can increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
• Clean your face thoroughly before the procedure, removing any makeup, lotion, or other products.
• Arrive at the appointment with a clean face, free of makeup and moisturiser.
• Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and avoid jewellery or accessories that may interfere with the procedure.
• Drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy diet to ensure your skin is well-hydrated and nourished before the treatment.

During Treatment

• The treatment area will be cleansed and marked by the doctor.
• Numbing cream will be administered to numb the treatment area. The type and amount of anaesthesia used may vary depending on the extent of the procedure.
• Small incisions will be made in the treatment area where the threads will be inserted.
• The threads will be carefully inserted under the skin using a needle or cannula and guided to their intended locations.
• The threads will be gently pulled to lift and tighten the skin, and then they will be anchored in place.
• Excess threads will be trimmed, and the incisions will be closed with sutures or adhesive strips.
• The procedure typically takes about an hour, but the duration may vary depending on the number of threads used and the size of the treatment area.

After Care

• Avoid strenuous exercise or activity for at least 2-3 days after the procedure.
• Avoid facial massages, facials, and other facial treatments for at least 2-3 weeks after the procedure.
• Do not touch or rub the treated area excessively.
• Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach for at least 2-3 nights after the procedure.
• Add ice packs to the treated area to reduce swelling and bruising if necessary.
• Take any prescribed medications as directed by the doctor.
• Attend any follow-up appointments with the doctor to monitor the healing process and ensure the best possible results.

Side effects

• Mild to moderate pain, swelling, or bruising in the treated area.
• Sensitivity or itching around the area where the threads were inserted.
• Numbness or tingling sensation in the treated area
• Formation of tiny bumps or irregularities on the skin
• Infection or abscess at the site of insertion (rare)
• Threads may become visible or protrude from the skin.
